Square Heads (Kare Kafalar) is a 2025 animated comedy feature film created, written and directed by Serhan Yorganci. The 93 minute film follows three close friends named Brave, Four-Eyes and Freckle, who discover an old wish watch in their neighborhood. At first it appears to be a small and harmless object, but once it activates, it pulls them out of their familiar world and places them in a stricter and almost surreal parallel place. Instead of granting wishes, the watch sends them into a reality controlled by Ruhi, a demanding figure who forces them to earn every coin through real and exhausting work.
In this unfamiliar world, the kids quickly realize how different everything is. At home they are used to spending money with a single click, but here they face strict rules, unfair systems and Ruhi’s constant pressure as they try to find a way back. What begins as a playful and absurd adventure slowly becomes a story about growing up, friendship, responsibility and the hidden structures that shape how people work, spend and understand the true value of things.
Square Heads combines playful physical humor with smaller, quieter emotional beats. The film leans on a simple visual style built from bold shapes and clear compositions, creating a world that looks unusual at first but still feels surprisingly close to everyday life. Through this setting, the film touches on a few ideas in a loose, natural way,
For director Serhan Yorganci, the goal of the film is to bring together the playful freedom of animation with the sharp logic of real life. The film invites audiences to laugh at the chaos on screen while remembering the small disappointments, quiet fears and turning points that stay with us as we grow up.
Square Heads has been licensed for streaming in the United States and is available on platforms such as Plex and Relay. Additional releases are planned on major digital storefronts, including Apple TV and YouTube Movies and TV, as well as on Xumo and through library distribution in North America via Midwest Tape. These partnerships allow audiences to discover the film as an independent animated feature made outside the traditional studio system.
